All Souls Prayers

Annual blessing of the graves.

All Souls Prayer Requests

Dear Friends,

Saint Joseph Abbey and Seminary College is inviting you to share your All Souls Prayer requests. Our monastic community will pray for your deceased family members and friends during the month of November.

Beginning with the Feast of All Saints Day November 1, and All Souls Day November 2, at the beginning of November, a centuries-old tradition calls for remembering our deceased family and friends in prayer for the entire month of November. Our monastic community will hold Mass on November 1 at 11:15 a.m. for the Feast of All Saints Day, and on November 2 at 11 a.m. for the Feast of All Souls Day, where we will process to the Abbey Cemetery for the blessing of the graves.

If you have deceased loved ones whom you would like remembered in prayer by the monks of Saint Joseph Abbey throughout the month of November, submit your prayer request below. Their names will be placed on the Blessed Virgin Mary’s altar in the Abbey Church where the monks gather every night to sing the Salve Regina. We humbly pray that the souls of your loved ones find serene rest with our Lord.

Listen kindly to our prayers, O Lord, and, as our faith in your Son, raised from the dead, is deepened, so may our hope of resurrection for your departed servants also find new strength. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.

Your prayer requests are dear to us at the Abbey. We are aware that many are unable to make contributions during this time. As always, the gift of your prayers is most appreciated. If you are able, your generous support will provide much-needed assistance to our monastic community’s prayer and work at the Abbey. Let us remain rooted in hope and trust in God. Be assured of our prayers for you and your family and friends.
