Saint Joseph Abbey and Seminary College is currently hiring for the following positions:
Position Title: Communications and Marketing Coordinator
About the Role: Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer you will be responsible for the daily coordination of communications and marketing strategies on behalf of the Abbey and Seminary College. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing our visibility and activities with our donors, volunteers, and fostering relationships with current and future partners. This is an on-site position and will require work outside of normal business hours when working special events and activities.
Responsibilities for this role include developing and communicating marketing activities for the Abbey, it’s Apostolates, and the Seminary as well as promoting and proactively nurturing awareness and positive perceptions about the Abbey. We are seeking a pro-active, goal driven individual that is accomplished in using various communication media channels including, social media, news media, email and other forms of printed and electronic communication strategies, while maintaining and executing job duties in a confidential and professional manner.
Manage and coordinate all press releases of events, milestones, “human interest” stories, etc.
Serve as the initial contact for news media inquiries, oversee and manage advertising and marketing efforts, and develop and manage messaging and branding for literacy consistency and integrity in all communications and venues.
Manage graphic design and printing for all promotional materials and internal communications, including newsletters and articles to internal and external customers.
Manage social media presence such as Facebook, Instagram, etc., including serving as the Webmaster for all SJASC websites. In addition, this position will serve as a photographer/videographer as needed.
About You: The Ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
3 - 5 years of relevant experience working in a dead-line driven environment.
Bachelor’s degree in communications/media preferred; will consider equivalent experience.
Demonstrated excellence in all aspects of communication forms, including written, electronic, graphic design, editing and proofing.

Position Title: Coordinator of Special Events and Alumni Affairs
About the Role: Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) you will be responsible for the management and coordination of all special events and alumni affairs on behalf of the Abbey and Seminary College. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in providing our donors, patrons, and current and future partners with enjoyable, entertaining and excellent experiences at our various events held throughout the year. Additionally, as the coordinator for Alumni Affairs, you will provide administrative duties and coordinate activities related to the Alumni Association. This is an on-site position and will require work outside of normal business hours when working special events and activities.
Responsibilities for this role include:
Identify, cultivate, secure and steward corporate and local business sponsorships.
Coordinate and execute all special events, working closely with the CAO and other functional departments and team members. Track attendees, funds received, donations, etc., and provide associated reports.
Coordinate activities associated with Alumni Affairs, supporting the CAO in securing donations, building relationships and providing support for fundraising campaigns.
Coordinate donor tours and other scheduled visits to promote cultivation and stewardship of donors including Alumni.
Execute all job duties in a professional, confidential and cohesive manner throughout SJASC.
About You:
The Ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
3-5 years of relevant experience working in a dead-line driven environment.
Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or related field preferred; will consider equivalent experience.
Demonstrated excellence in all aspects of event planning, donor relations, corporate sponsorship, and proficiency in related software programs and platforms.
