Saint Joseph Abbey Mass & Prayer Schedule

The monks at Saint Joseph Abbey gather four times a day for common prayer (the Divine Office), and at midday they celebrate the Eucharist. The public is invited to join the monks at any of the daily liturgies in the beautiful and historic Abbey Church.

PLEASE NOTE:
On Friday, May 22, 2026, Saint Joseph Abbey Church will not offer Mass at 11:15 a.m. The Monastic Community will celebrate a Jubilee Mass at 5:00 p.m. for Br. Simon Stubbs.

Vigils, 6:00 AM

Lauds, 7:00 AM

Mass, 11:15 AM

Vespers, 5:30 PM

Compline, 7:15 PM


Guidelines for Women’s Attire:
• Tops: Shoulders should be covered with sleeves, a cardigan, or a shawl. No spaghetti straps, tank tops, T-shirts, or crop tops.
• Chest: Necklines should be modest with no visible cleavage.
• Bottoms: Skirts, dresses, or pants/jeans should hit at or below the knee. No shorts, leggings, or ripped/torn jeans. (Remember to test that the hemline remains appropriate when sitting or kneeling.)
• Shoes: Closed Toes, Sandals. No beach-style flip flops.
• No baseball hats

Appropriate Attire in the Abbey Church

In keeping with the verse, we ask that you present your body respectfully and ask that you follow the guidelines when attending Mass or Daily Prayer Services.

• Tops that are button-up shirts, polo shirts, and sweaters. No T-shirts.
• Bottoms: Slacks, khakis, or jeans. No short or ripped/torn jeans.
• Shoes: Closed Toes, sandals may be worn with socks. No sandals with bare feet. No beach-style flip flops.
