Christmas Appeal

The following is the 2025 Christmas Appeal Letter from Abbot Gregory Boquet, O.S.B.:

Dear Friend,

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we behold His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father full of grace and truth.” - John 1:14

During the Advent season, we remember Jesus Christ is the incarnation and revelation of God in human form. He dwelt among us displaying a truthful and gracious revelation of God. God’s revelation is experienced through the fullness of Christ’s grace, which is one blessing after another as constant waves – replenishing us.

We welcome you to celebrate the incarnation and revelation of Jesus Christ through prayer at Saint Joseph Abbey. Our Benedictine tradition of prayer is a cornerstone for deepening one’s relationship with God. By holding each other up in prayer, we embody the grace that Christ exemplified.

This year we are embarking on a project to preserve the exterior of Saint Joseph Abbey Church. We invite you to support the water proofing of the church exterior mortar which has loosened and disintegrated over the past seventy or more years. The mortar is essential for sealing the exterior walls that stabilize the interior temperature and climate within the church. Professional assessments of the church have documented an increase in moisture in the church, which exposes the structure to water intrusion and threatens the integrity of the Dom Gregory deWitt’s artwork on the interior walls of the church. By remembering us again this year, you help us seal the Church and preserve its integrity.

Please join us in cultivating a community rich in compassion, humility, and love for one another through prayer this Advent season. May God’s constant replenishing grace fill you and your family with love this year.
