Abbey Hosts Free Performance from International Organist

International award-winning organist Loriane Llorca will perform at Saint Joseph Abbey Church on Sunday, March 8th at 3 p.m., located at 75376 River Road in Covington. The organ concert is free and open to the public. Llorca is currently the Young Artist in Residence at St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans.

Beginning at a very young age, Llorca started her musical studies at the Conservatory of Pau, (Béarn, South Of France). She learned piano and organ under Jesus Martin Moro. She then studied organ at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Toulouse with Stéphane Bois, Michel Bouvard, and Jan Willem Jansen. Llorca also studies fortepiano and harpsichord.

Llorca received her undergraduate degree in musicology from Sorbonne University in France. In 2016 she continued her studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris with Olivier Latry and Michel Bouvard.

In 2017, she won the Grand Prize and the Public Prize at the Jean- Louis Florentz International Competition, under the patronage of the Académie des Beaux-Arts - Institut de France.

She is supported by the Fondation de France-Ustaritz, the Meyer Foundation, and the Tarrazi Foundation.
