Cremation Niches at the Saint Joseph Abbey Cemetery

720 cremation niches were added to the Saint Joseph Abbey Cemetery in 2019. These niches, located inside the Columbariums, can be found just past the cemetery entrance. Benches line the pathway of the structures, which are all named for Saints. (Read more about this by clicking here.) An expansion of 12 new columbarium units, with 1,170 cremation niches, is now complete. (See details for the new niches by clicking here.) Proceeds from the purchase of a niche support the needs of the Abbey and help maintain its communal life and apostolates.

  • Cremation niches are 11 3/4 inches wide, 11 5/8 inches high, and 12 inches deep.

Two burials per niche are permitted, subject to the size of the urns.

  • Cremation niches are $4,000, which includes one open/close, engraving, and perpetual care. A second open/close/engraving fee is $500.

A payment plan is available with a non-refundable $600 down payment, followed by $100 interest-free monthly installments.
